This stat depends on what country you're looking at & what time it was.

created. No doubt the vaccines are effective in preventing disease after you wait the two weeks for your body to be fully vaccinated though the length of effectiveness is unknown. Israel, the UK, and Iceland (those are the only countries I've looked at recently), all have much greater percentages of hospitalization and death from the vaccinated then the stat you are using.

I'm not sure where you found/heard your stat, but it was found that some of the data the CDC and local health departments have been using was misleading. They were using data from December/January when 1) the US was at the height of COVID cases/hospitalization/deaths 2) No one was fully vaccinated yet other than trial participants. So if your data starts in December/January/February/March even into April, the percentage of hospitalization/deaths among the unvaxxed are going to be higher because there were more cases and not very many were fully vaccinated.

Here's a screenshot from a data scientist who reported this very issue with LA County and the LA County health director removed her misleading tweet.

Again, I'm not saying the vaccinations don't work, but their current effectiveness is overstated if you're still using the 90% or greater effectiveness. Current cases don't show that.
