If looking for a spark though, I don't know why Kadum over Blumrick
Whatever other limitations he has, Blumrick is at least pretty tall and he can run. In the distant past, a backup spark might've been like, Ike Whitaker playing a series or two versus Sean Glennon. Kadum is like the quintessential backup QB, a Mark Leal or Ju-Ju Clayton kind of guy. He's well-rounded but he doesn't really excel at anything yet; there's nothing you get with him that you don't get with your starter. But, if you lose your starter, he's capable of doing a marginally passable job of more of the playbook than the rest of the QB room.
I think their goal was probably just to get Kadum reps at a point in the game where it still mattered and would've been bad if he screwed up. But, even if they had planned all week to put him in on the 5th drive of the game or whatever it was, I can't imagine that someone didn't at least say "are we sure we want to put Kadum in this exact situation?" Everyone, probably even Kadum himself, would've understood if they waited for the next possession, or at least waited for 10-20 more yards of field position.
