You don't get a license at 16 anymore, at least in Virginia

You can get a learner's permit at 15.5, but you must have the learner's for 9 months before you can get your license. So best case scenario is 16.25 to get a license.

Unless you have the misfortune of turning 15.5 during Covid and all the DMV's are closed. Grrrr.
