This USC coup is good for college football regardless of CFP expansion

Let's face it. College football was in danger of becoming a regional sport. A monopolization by the SEC and even a cannibalization of sorts within the SEC.

Everything has been gravitating to the SEC like a giant sucking sound. Media coverage. Teams (OU and UT). Playoff bids (even at just 4 teams). Money. You name it.

But for SEC-bound OU to lose their elite coach and for LSU to NOT be the destination is finally some good news for the rest of college football. Like the ACC, the Pac12 could use a shot in the arm. And they got it with Lincoln Riley to USC. Congrats to all parties here.
