Congrats on Pry!

Greetings from Lion Land. Just wanted to say that you are getting a good man, solid and loyal coach and great recruiter. I am guessing Hokie AD like his ability to recruit VA/DC/MD. In terms of DC, it is hard to say. Last two seasons have been very difficult. We started out 0-5 in 2020 and secondary was torched against Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, IA to start season. Tackling was really bad. I don't think anyone was happy with Pry. This season, D was strength of team for long stretches but we went 7-5 so overrated in general. Yes, mostly due to putrid OL/run game but Pry plays bend but don't break..and we broke quite often. To his credit, the D kept us in games but we always gave up big play when needed a stop. (USC Rose bowl, MSU 2017/2018, OSU in 2017/2018 in 4th qtr) In 2021,we lost to IA, UM, MSU with 4th q leads because gave up big play when offense stalled. IL was a complete disaster / brown stain on Pry's career. They absolutely steam rolled us to 357 rushing yards. Unheard of around here..shocking loss as Pry never adjusted. The other issue is dropped INTs. Balls hit LB, DB, CB hands all the time then the ground. It become laughably bad/expected. Lost probably 4 games games over years bc could not get easy TO. I guess discipline is not strongest. Brandon Smith, 5 star LB stud from VA, has never tackled correctly. Tries to hit players hard and it has cost us of many times. Pry is a solid tactician, player friendly coach but discipline D is questionable. Hope it works out for you.
