Huh? Foster didn’t have a bend, not break, philosophy

It was more of an all or nothing approach.

Why do think VT was so good at sacks, TFL, ints, 3rd down pct, etc, but not so great vs mobile QBs, long runs up the middle on one missed read, great TEs down the middle of the field, etc.?

Foster took risks and put a lot of guys on islands. When it worked (which was often), it was really very effective. When it didn’t (which wasn’t often), it could be really bad.
