Next year is a big reset. New cars, new formulas


Think I read they were going away from the hybrid system in an attempt to make the cars less expensive and less complex. Bigger rims means the tires should have fewer "fails," and they can shove larger brakes under those wheels.

But the overall size of the car will change. I think they're going to make them smaller, or at least narrower to assist in passing. I think they're working on the aero to reduce the turbulence behind other cars to increase passing. I guess DRS will remain in the series...

Not sure when, but they were trying to get more engine manufacturers into the series. Next year will be at least the same four from this year: Mercedes, Honda/RedBull, Renault/Alpine, and Ferrari.
