I think if Lewis had pitted for new tires at the end and Max didn't...


...Lewis would have passed him on the final lap. But you never know if the race would have been restarted with one green lap. If not, everyone would say Mercedes were idiots for that pit stop.

I agree, why have the rule book if it's going to be ignored. Put something in writing about these situations giving the stewards leeway to have "better racing." Not sure if that currently exists.
