I'm going to assume you disagree with me, so let me explain.

Yes, I believer there are people out there paying off kids and their families to entice them to go to certain schools. I believe it is not an SEC phenomenon. I believe it happens at a lot of places and through a lot of channels including youth coaches and such.

The theory that the SEC is better because of this is an excuse. If they can and do do it, why isn't everyone else? If that is the way you win, do you think that only a few teams have figured that out. If that's all it takes, why isn't TX dominating, USC, Miami?

Want to know why SEC schools get more top talent? Go to a few SEC schools on gameday and you'll see it. For all we talk about the gameday atmosphere at VT, it pales in comparison (and our is pretty good compared to most). They are weekend events and when a recruit goes there and sees that, they want to be a part of it. That's the part other conferences can't match. Add the warm weather, better TV exposure and coaches that are better recruiters....there's the difference.

But it's easier to blame cheating and ESPN rather than understanding why they are better and trying to figure out how to counter that to compete.
