Good question. I'm not sure the answer to that question.


FWIW Lewis is listed as a r-JR on hokiesports.com even though he redshirted during the 2017-18 season and took an Olympic redshirt during the 2019-20 season. Given that the NCAA granted everyone an extra year of eligibility last year because of the pandemic, should he be listed as a r-JR or r-SO? If he should be listed as a r-JR, then it is possible that an Olympic redshirt doesn't give an athlete an extra year of eligibility unless that is 1 of the criteria that the NCAA can grant a waiver on (aka extra year of eligibility).
