and basically they were (or somebody) was suggesting the shot was "better" than actually having been sick, not that you would want to get sick first to get the immunity but once you had it it should be just as good and they were saying that wasn't so. After all the vaccine is just getting the body to identify the virus "sooner" but that's what the body does, learns to identify it first and then create antibodies etc.

My theory here is simply record keeping, No one was able to create reliable records of who had the coronavirus so the only reliable data point that could be collected was who got the shot. Even the latter isn't reliable b/c the gov deigned to not collect those statistics because of privacy issues. Anyway, another "messaging" issue where they tell you something to get the desired response: "Get the shot" but the fact wasn't entirely truthful. I had always assumed that having the disease immunizes you to some extent and now(?) the CDC is saying that's true after all?
