Because of the two per country rule.


So for slot 42 which belongs to NZL. any other NZL golfers above world ranking #376 would then qualify because they have a qualifying ranking, but they were eliminated by the country quota.

If for example both Vincent and Williams were both above #376 (this number fluctuates week to week), only one and De Jonge would qualify but the country quota would eliminate the lower ranked golfer. The remaining golfer would jump up to first alternate for both of the other ZIM golfers pusing everyone else further down the list..

So NZL has two qualified golfers and two other golfers above the first alternate. So the two NZL alternates would push Munoz (COL) who is first alternate on most lines to third alternate for the two NZL lines.
