Lacrosse is Growing in Virginia

Richmond added men's lacrosse in 2014. Hampton University added it this year. It used to just be UVA and VMI in Virginia on the men's side playing NCAA Division 1 lacrosse. Now we have 4 schools doing it.

I would love to see men's lacrosse grow in the ACC. We have 5 members playing it now, and they all are good teams. It would be great if VT would add it. You probably would have to add Field Hockey at the same time for Title IX. Lacrosse wouldn't require new facilities at VT, but Field Hockey would. Most field hockey is played on Astro Turf these days.

The NCAA allows 12 scholarships for Field Hockey and 12.6 for Men's Lacrosse. Those 2 could balance for Title IX. The ACC runs good leagues for both.
