Thankfully, no, I don't know "jack" about VT's experience
buttttt....was it not your administration's own doing that put you in that position (as you stated and I've learned since posting).
The choices your administration made may have been what has held VT back for so many years - comparable to South Carolina leaving the "All Cupcake Conference." I, nor Clemson cannot be blamed for the shortcomings of another institution.
I've never called for the dismissal of VT from the ACC. It's sad to see that Wake Forest's administration through the years (as an inferior institution) has such an adverse affect on the entire conference (sarcasm).
By your logic, VT should have won multiple national championships after a decade in a stable P5 conference if that is what was holding it back.
My point, from the beginning, has been that no ACC institution has grounds to called for the dismissal of any other program (save for every school vs UNC), especially one of the expansion institutions. Decisions made in the past are in the past. VT went from owning ACC football to an also-ran in the Coastal. That can change again just as quickly. If Duke can have success in football, then so can Wake.
Football makes money, but the ACC will not get more money for kicking out a member that some VT fans (who I've learned are not as loyal as they lead everyone to believe - especially in terms of donating to athletic department) think they "foot the bill for."
I dread the day that VT doesn't make a bowl and Wake does.
