Non-champs must be "unequivocally" in top 4, i.e., OSU. there would be

no splitting hairs between ND and a conference champ. ND would have to be clearly better than at least two of them, or as in OSU's case, three of them

ND's only top 10 game this year was USC and they played three G5s. Their SOS was very close to UW's. ND probably would have had to have gone undefeated to make the playoff this year.

as much as i would have liked the committee to better articulate their decisions and as much as I'm not wowed by OSU, Hocutt did point out that OSUs 3 big wins this year is what put them solidly in the playoff.

What if ND had been 10-2 this year and got in? -- East Cobb Hokie 12/05/2016 3:27PM
  Maybe at 11-1, no chance at 10-2 ** -- TerryD 12/05/2016 6:17PM

So at 11-1, who'd get bumped and why? -- East Cobb Hokie 12/05/2016 6:41PM
Maybe Washington, as they were #4 team... -- jesuisvtguy 12/06/2016 10:34AM
  I think they would be #2 or 3 at 11-1. EASILY. -- chuckd4vt 12/05/2016 7:54PM
  Wouldn't have happened. ** -- reestuart 12/05/2016 3:46PM
Heck no, our schedule was weak. ** -- goldendomer 12/05/2016 3:42PM
