Yup, but I am not sure if politicians think that far down the road


vs. concern about winning their next election. If the state did require UNC and NC State to leave the ACC, then it would be interesting to see what happens with the GoR. I assume someone (1 school, both schools, or the state) would challenge it in court. Unless they have some real slick lawyers that can find the tiniest of loopholes, then I would assume they would lose their challenge.

It would get even more interesting if either school or both schools requested/demanded the state to pay them for all that loss revenue since it was the state's decision in the first place that placed them in this economic misfortune. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't think a state would be bold enough to try to pull that stunt. However, this might be a case where money is thicker than blood.
