I think more people remember.
and care about the programs cut than you think. More importantly, whether they continue to care it absolutely does affect the perception of the University and the athletic department and can impact future fund raising and development initiatives. We will just have to agree to disagree on the way and impact of cutting programs.
How different from $5 million is a ton more dough? Do you know what VT makes off a single home game? Seems to me I recall a figure in the $5 million range which does not include the multiplier effect on the local economy. I will look to see if I can find the article or relevant numbers. Yes the OSU game was an event but, when your average attendance hovers around 94 to 96% and your season ticket sales fluctuate marginally it is not easy to understand how a single game regardless of opponent can produce an approximate 100% increase in game profit, if the average figures mentioned previously are accurate.
While you may feel you are personally attacked on a daily basis(and you may have a valid case in certain instances), I would contend more would be characterized either as challenges to repeated unsupported opinions on your part or a response to a personal attack or snarky comment initiated by you in an earlier post.
