I think that is a big part of it


And kids see the athletoc stars in the US playing other sports so they follow those paths. Independent of socioeconomic status, most athletes here are going to go to sports outside of soccer. Sure, we play it on weekends as little kids but that doesn't carry through to high school for the best athletes.
