I'll bite, where is the science?

I've found a few studies that show football/soccer are very close (in terms of concussion-per-event).

But still going to say -- # of concussions doesn't tell you the average force/impact of each concussion. One minor concussion doesn't equal one stay-home-for-three-days concussion.

Getting smacked in head with 1-pound ball < blindside hit from 225-pound linebacker.

Now, at the youth levels, you don't have the 225-pound linebacker -- so for an 8-year old, the soccer/football head-injury difference is less.

But to say soccer/football are just as dangerous, I think that's a distorted (borderline naive) interpretation of the data.
