My research last week said it's still valid if fired. They key to good


non-competes is areas delineated and time. Sounds like they have both.

I had one once. I was a lifelong resident of RVA and the company was new. I said no way they would kill my local contacts, so I insisted on having a list of contacts/clients that they couldn't prevent me from pursuing. They agreed, for one year. I figured if I didn't like the company, I'd be gone by then anyway.

I'd say call Iluka but they're packing up their stuff and going home to Australia.
