Pence said he wouldn't eat dinner alone with a woman...


(other than his wife). That is what got him the most ridicule.

Quite a bit of business gets done over dinners (often "alone" in public restaurants). Those that "ridiculed" him did so as that type of stance makes it difficult for women to work in many male dominated areas.
