It's a bad look for many reasons

1. It assumes allegations of assault are false
2. It assumes that assaults only happen between men and women
3. It assumes that all relationships between men and women are sexual or could be construed that way
4. It creates an immediately suspicious and accusatory mood for any party involved

And that's not even why he acts that way. He does that because he is "guarding his heart" as a very socially conservative christian.

I know the culture inside and out. It's silly.

Why not act that way toward male associates? If you work primarily with men you are more likely to be accused of assault or harassment by a man than a woman.
