Even without lying, two people can perceive an interaction extremely

differently.

Wasn't there a poster on here a couple weeks ago that got into a huge kerfluffle at work because he walked behind a woman in a crowded conference room and she felt harassed by it?

Somewhat luckily, there were plenty of witnesses to dispute the harassment claim. But imagine if there weren't? One person thinks they are just walking around the room, while another thinks their personal space has been invaded and they are being physically intimidated.

No one is lying, they are just perceiving the same event extremely differently.

I realize the old concepts of 'boys-will-be-boys,' 'I was just having fun,' and 'I didn't mean anything by it' don't fly anymore. But it feels like the pendulum has swung all the way to the other side. Now, you can't look at, touch, or speak to another human being with anything but impeccable professionalism for fear of it being labeled harassment.

So yeah, if I were a public figure of any kind, I'd would be very cautious about ever being alone with another human being while at work.
