If your A1C is 120, then your blood is pure sugar

Your blood glucose goes up or down throughout the day so a perfectly healthy normal not-diabetic person might have a 120 blood glucose an hour after eating a bowl of ice cream.

The A1C is a measure of your average blood sugar over time and it's more meaningful than just what your blood sugar is today.

When you do your A1C, they usually give you a computed range for what that equates to. If that's what you are looking at, then that's about a 5.5, which is the high end of normal, but not bad. (Pre-diabetic is 6.0.)
