We lived on Summit Ridge in LaBellevue when we first moved

to Roanoke. Was that YOU????
:)

Crazy guy had an old green Toyota 4 runner and was coming up Coachman. All the kids were sledding and he needed more weight in the back so they all piled in with their sleds. Here he is getting almost to the top and starting to slide backwards with a bunch of kids we didn't know and an open tailgate. Fortunately, it all ended well.

Not a snow story, but while still in that neighborhood, I was walking down the road to a friend's house with our first Belgian Sheepdog on a leash. It was a gorgeous Spring day and I spritzed a little lemon cologne on me. Well, the biggest bee I have ever seen decided it was in love. I am allergic to bees and found out years ago while on the back of Crazy Guy's motorcycle in rural PA but I digress.

I take off running and the dog thinks this is great so she takes off with me still attached to the leash. Her walking speed is like my running speed so I then put all my energy into slowing her down before I fell face-first and was dragged in the street. If she knew she was free, she'd bolt into the woods so I had to hold her.

Between slowing her down and having a small bird making a 'bee-line' for me, I started laughing uncontrollably. A neighborhood couple was coming the other way and as we passed, I yelled at them to stop that bee. They each stepped a different way and the bee flew right between them on a mission.

There was something about that Mountain, we saw the biggest bee, biggest black snake who lived on our side porch and kept the rattlers away, biggest skunk, and biggest bat.
