We rented an RV and 4 of us went down from Rochester, NY. Stopped in MD to pick up one friend, Bristol to pick up another.

On the way back though, TORRENTIAL rains going through Alabama. Dropped one off in Bristol. Did a lap through the drill field playing "Ride of The Valkyries." Dropped the 2nd in MD. Then it started to snow.....just a little. Then more. And more.

That's when we realized that he defrost didn't really work, and snow started building up on the wipers themselves, until the wipers were each about 4 inches wide. We finally figured out to drop a sleeping back from the sleeping area above the driver cabin to isolate the cabin, and turn the heat on full blast. Eventually, like a poster below, we had a little opening right in front of the driver, and like another poster, we just kinda spotted an 18 wheeler in front of us and kept following it.

Drove like that from South of Harrisburg PA all the way to Rochester, NY. Good job by the drivers, as we didn't slide until we were actually just a few miles from home. But the last portion of the trip, that would normally be 4.5 hours, was more like 8. Got home at 3 AM absolutely exhausted. 3 feet of snow, maybe more.

And then we had to return the RV by 5 the next day, so faced a huge shovel job to get out and get the RV back.
