Litigous society too. When people are driving, we are perfectly happy
living with 2.3M injuries and 37K deaths from car wrecks every year.
But once a computer is doing the driving, every single wreck will be a multi-million dollar lawsuit. If there isn't special legislation protecting the automakers from lawsuits (under the premise that the accident rate is likely to be 5% or less of what it is now), self-driving cars will be sued into oblivian.
