Building on this - my perception is that Virginia is generally too humid to


get the same flavors as you get in the top wine regions.but then again, having not tasted them recently, I couldn't be sure if it was true.

Too humid AND too much rain. Most flavors get concentrated by the grapes not QUITE getting enough moisture.
