I did find another article that stated the school had multiple lots


so I guess it is possible the officer didn't go into the overflow lot across the street. Even if he happened to drive through the overflow lot, it is possible the officer missed the vehicle because he wasn't able to see through the back windows and/or the body wasn't clearly visible. Depending on the position of the flipped seat, it is possible a person would have to walk right up next to the vehicle to see the body trapped.

Since my mom had a mini van when I was in high school, I am a little surprised he didn't open the trunk door and get the equipment from the outside. At least when I drove the minivan I don't remember ever getting something out the back while still inside the vehicle. The other thing I am curious about is whether they are able to determine if he made any attempt to try to open the trunk door while stuck. Then again, I guess it is possible that vans/minivans these days don't have a lever to open the trunk from the inside anymore.
