Tried not to pile on....


and there was some effort involved. The story Sportsman relays below made the rounds during those years as well as several others. The common line heard at the time in the area was that "thank God UVA's softball talent evaluation skills and program were even worse than VT." At the time Thomas was still enamored with the hotbeds and far flung areas and largely ignored potential talent in his own back yard.
