Knockout stage will have 32 teams as opposed to 16.

FIFA is expanding the tournament to 48 teams in 2026. Group stage will have 16 groups of three teams with the top two advancing (will bring into question teams playing for a draw in the final group match).

Group draw luck will still help. I'm not sure how they will lot the teams prior to drawing groups.

I am optimistic about our youth talent with attacking options in Pulisic, Weah, Seargent, and McKinnie. We should be strong in the back with very good prospects in Carter-Vickers, Palmer-Brown, and Miazaga.
