Given that both Japan and South Korea received auto bids

for the 2002 World Cup, it seems unlikely that all 3 host nations wouldn't receive an auto bid for the 2026 World Cup especially since there has never been a World Cup where the host nation didn't get to participate in the tournament. Since CONCACAF will have 6 spots in the 2026 World Cup, then FIFA can do the same thing it did for the 2002 World Cup. FWIW the AFC had 4 spots in the 1998 World Cup and those same 4 spots in the 2002 World Cup with 2 going to the host countries. In theory CONCACAF could end up with up to 8 spots since it will have 2 teams (as the host confederation) in the Playoff Tournament.
