Sorry, I didn't explain it very well.


By "untaxed", I meant that throughout the year, there are no witholdings on my expense allowance. However, at the end of the year, that money shows up as income, which is then taxed. So in the end, I'm basically only receiving 75-78 cents out of every dollar that is meant to compensate me for job-related expenses.
