I should have defined that better

it may not be actual $$$ or effort expended, but society is now often inconveniencing the majority to accommodate all small groups all the time, in all locations.

If I show up to a ball game and it is "peanut free" night that they have every so often - great, no problem, I'll eat something else - even though I really enjoy eating peanuts at a game. If you ban them outright, well that affects the majority all the time. If you have an allergy, plan to go to one of the "peanut free" nights. We both give, we both get.

IMHO accommodating small groups of people like this has added to the polarity of society - it's never all for one and one for all anymore.
