Not necessarily when you compare how his teammates did
while at Chicago vs. playing for another NBA team.
Pippen - Houston and Portland
Grant - Orlando, LA Lakers, and Seattle
Cartwright - Seattle
BJ Armstrong - Golden State, Charlotte, and Orlando
Will Perdue - San Antonio and Portland
Now did MJ make every teammate better? Probably not, but the same could be said for LeBron. Over the years I have seen different sports experts say that MJ is the "Wayne Gretzky of the NBA," but I don't think I have ever seen that comparison made with LeBron. Maybe that is because Wayne and MJ played during the same era and that it is a valid point. I do find it interesting that the NHL has quite a few super stars today and I don't think anyone is ready to replace Wayne with any of them as the "Great One." So why is the NBA and even the NFL so eager to replace the GOAT with someone currently playing? I am not saying that LeBron doesn't deserve to be in the conversation. However, if both players went head-to-head in their prime, then I have a feeling that MJ would win that battle majority of the time.
