Down for the spring game, ended up watching most of the double-header

That was something, first game might have been only six hits, but everybody was hitting the UVA pitcher. There were a lot of fly balls or hit well, just at the defense. That 1-0 score was a little deceptive, a couple double plays and some bad base-running by the Hokies kept it from being more like the second game. To be fair to the hoos, their third base person hit a long fly ball, think only the humid air kept it in at cf.

Anyway, long story short, I was just passing through but was really impressed, now I read this article and kind of amazed at the turn-around. So the coach does matter, I'll be darned. Kudos to Whit for firing people and hiring people, not letting things stay status quo which I guess what was being done. Sorry to see Tincher go, but even legends have their expiration date or maybe it seemed like a better hire than it really was. I see the comments below about Rochard's comments, not sure they are really that strong, I mean, what are you going to say when you and the team are playing a couple magnitudes better? Just be direct and say it, no point dessembling, The old staff got stale/complacent time to move on. Done and speak no more of that.

Caught my interest now, I'll be following this for the rest of the season.

PS Late second game sat near the parents of the the hoo pitcher in first game Aly. Didn't make my comment above how everyone was hitting her ;^) We were all friendly, but every time a Hokie hitter would come up he'd be like, "Oh, only batting .415 so there's a hole in your lineup" Funny, but I think his eyes were pretty wide realizing what a buzzsaw the VT hitting was.
