applicants who indicate that they want to be in the VTCC get "Additional Consideration" from the admissions office. And he does not have to go into the military, he can be in the Citizen-Leader Track. If you decide to go this route, I highly recommend that you visit with Gary Jackson, the Corps admissions guy in the Admissions Office. I know him personally, and he loves to put a face to a name! It helps a lot!

@Edgeman also had some very valid advice. Going to a Va. Community College and getting a minimum of 2.5 GPA will guarantee him admission to VT after he gets his degree from the CC.
