I'm going to sound holier than thou here but I think dumbbell


flyes are a waste of time.

You're using a light weight (so you're not loading anything worthwhile on the muscle) and you're not under tension once you get that movement to center. Why do an exercise where you're not an peak contraction at the end of the movement?

I don't know why people would ever bother with that exercise if you truly think about what you're trying to accomplish.

The cable is under tension when you get to center AND you can go past center (crossover) with tension the entire time.
