The #1 thing I've found is looking at food labels, and tracking everything


Once you start looking at everything you consume, you can make better food choices. (I put everything into an Excel chart, because I like using Excel, but there are plenty of other ways to track it too.)

For example, when I switched from sausage to bacon, I dropped a significant amount of fat and calories. I also discovered there isn't a significant difference between real bacon and turkey bacon, so I don't waste my time (or taste buds) with turkey bacon...lol
