The biggest thing that has happened with Seinfeld is that enough time...
...has passed that people have realized that it doesn't matter how they ended a sitcom that effectively had no ongoing storylines. Like, a few clunker episodes down the stretch of the final season doesn't undo any of the prior genius. And after 20+ years of watching the reruns in syndication everybody certainly realizes that by now.
The stakes are higher for drama finales and that's probably fair, but people still overrate the importance of the ending in serialized storytelling. Game of Thrones could've ended with a clipshow finale and it wouldn't have changed the fact that they delivered a phenomenal amount of ridiculously entertaining television for many, many years.
