GoT was fine to be honest, I didn't mind it. 4/8 starks were killed
at some point so it was the law averages that the other 4 would have something good happen. It was always about them and it ended pretty well for them all things considered. I would have liked to have more time to get to those points because GoT did such a great job of developing characters but once the source material ran out, that went out the window.
in my view I would have liked to see the following happen.
Season 7 should have ended with the Battle of Winterfell. Season 8 should have focused on the battle for Westeros, killing Cersei(a proper beheading would have been nice) and ending with Dany giving that speech on the top of the stairs after "The Bells"(great episode btw), aka becoming the Mad Queen.
Finally the last season should have been the about the aftermath and how the lords of westeros dealt with what just happen and Jon's interpersonal battle and decision to do what is right which we got about 20 minutes of. Other than to present Dany with conflict, what was the point of Jon being the true heir to the throne? He clearly never wanted it but would have been nice to see it play out politically in season 9 before he ultimately killed her.
overall though it was a great series.
