That’s still an interpretation by SC justices at a given moment in time
It’s not like the founding fathers rose from the grave and provided clarity or told someone what they were thinking when using the language they chose (ignoring the possibility that they couldn’t even agree in their time, which would explain how we ended up with such convoluted language), much less that the zombie founders were reincarnated with a comprehensive understanding of modern societal issues and weapon capabilities.
The 2nd amendment was written by humans and has been interpreted by humans over the course of time. It seems crazy to me to believe that laws arise from some rigid, infallible basis bestowed upon the world by an all-knowing entity. Nothing lasts for ever and much of the US Constitution and amendments have fared pretty well with age, but you don’t have to look any further than the 18th and 21st amendments to see that every aspect of these documents must not be perfect indefinitely.
