The challenge with mental health has three components in my mind
1. Someone acting or preparing to act on a delusion is unlikely to realize they have a health problem. That means someone else has to interfere and be unpleasant and MAKE them follow through with treatment. Who will that be?
2. Rarely will someone interfere with another's life, particularly when it involves delusion, because it's frightening, and that person's perceptions are already well thought out and considered in their own mind.
3. Barriers to treatment: unwillingness on the part of the patient or intervening party, inability to pay, stigmas (as you mentioned) related to receiving mental health treatment
I agree it has to get better. This nation has a unique problem on its hands: easy access to firearms, denial of mental health challenges, and a deep pool of actors pushing conspiracies to an audience for the purpose of hawking goods [Post edited by typed by ben at 06/01/2019 09:40AM]
