I usually stay out of these controversial topics but....
I havent heard this mentioned so here's my 2 cents.... the only gun law that will prevent this type of tragedy is banning guns all together which I dont see happening. Banning automatic weapons is great but this guy used a handgun, yes it had an extended mag but you can exchange a mag in a split second. I think we start focusing more attention toward mental health. Just being aware that someone has a problem isnt good enough and does nothing to help the cause. If you mention that you think someone is a danger to themselves or society, it would go nowhere... they haven't committed a crime and you could potentially get sued for defamation of character. Society will have to change their views and actions to prevent these types of tragic events and that will probably take generations...
Might as well start now.
