but the answer to your question is, real simple.

MONEY! SELLING GUNS IS BIG INDUSTRY. Thats why. Every other excuse that the right makes up is merely cover for the simple fact that selling guns supports an industry, and since we live in a oligarchy, money trumps everything else, even the lives of our children.
