Where there's a will there's a way.

I think VCU should buy City Stadium and rebuild it for a new football stadium for VCU. Their other option would be to turn Sports Backers Stadium, which they already use for Soccer, into a football stadium for both Football and Soccer.

VCU is already partnering with the Flying Squirrels to replace the Diamond on property currently occupied by the VA ABC distribution center. The property that the Diamond is currently on could be used to build a football stadium. But the city may prefer a Walmart or some other shopping center.

I think that the best would be to get ownership of City Stadium and do something on that spot. They could work out a deal with Bon Secours for the Redskins Complex, but they'd need an alternative when the Redskins are actually using it.

Before any of this happens VCU needs to decide to sponsor football. So far they have consistently turned down the idea.
