It's a four-day trip? You might consider doing three days on the Strip and spend the last night on Fremont Street just to check it out. It'd require extra packing up, but it might be worth the experience.

Fremont Street is definitely a different experience than the Strip. Given that your initial post said you wanted to let your son experience the Strip, I'd say to just spend an afternoon/evening at Fremont, or do the final night of your trip on Fremont.

You're exactly right, though, in that the different casinos are so much more accessible on Fremont Street. Bad luck in one? Another is just steps away! And they do free outdoor shows at night, plus a zip line.

PS -- the hotel I used to stay at, The Fitzgerald, is now just The D. It looks nice, so it might be worth checking out!
