It's not PR; my read is a few teams wanted to, and NFL provided cover

There was nothing in this for the NFL. It was a dead issue. To bring it up now makes zero sense, even from a PR perspective. The only way that would have worked was if CK sucked publicly at the tryout.

The NFL provided cover for a few teams that wanted a tryout but not the media circus. It got weird when they refused cameras, and then weirder when CK moved the site (why, exactly?). Neither side is behaving well.

FWWI, I have no issue with CK kneeling. Also, I remember when he left the league that he wasn't very good. So I don't know why this is a big issue to either side.
