so the fandom won't go ballistic that their team is taking a look at him? Wouldn't they have the same problem if they signed him?

I'm not sure how it couldn't be a PR move, the NFL is going way out of their way to accommodate this, and as the song says (sarcastically) "out of kindness I suppose"

But i don't know, the whole thing is bizarre. I can't see someone who hasn't played in 3 years being in anywhere good a shape to come back. I will note he did follow up on his promise to donate $1M (I think, keep reading he met his goals "with friends" not sure how to parse that) so I give him credit for doing that, not just saying that.
