Trying him out and signing him are two different things


If his tryout out goes great and he is a clear NFL caliber QB, then you talk about what he plans to do on the sideline. If he stinks, no harm no foul. If you find common ground on the sideline, and you think he can help you win, you can weather any mess with fans.
